Brief Overview
In the volatile and challenging business environment
of today, Marketing is considered an increasingly important tool for
achieving business aims and objectives locally and globally.
In the Arab world, the role of Marketing has become well established as
the success of organizations has become dependent on their ability to
use modern marketing techniques to counter the tough competition from
foreign companies. The Marketing Department at King Abdulaziz
University, therefore, seeks to equip students with the expertise and
knowledge necessary for a career in Marketing in the corporate and
public sector, both within the country, and overseas. The emphasis of
the program is to train qualified and highly specialized graduates to
function as leaders in today’s diverse workforce.
Objectives of the Marketing
Department
• Develop students’ abilities and skills in order for
them to realize their full potential
• Keep students up to date with new developments and research in the
field of Marketing
• Link theory with practice in Marketing and ensure active student
participation in both
• Train qualified graduates that effectively fulfill the needs of
Marketing departments in various organizations.
• Relate Marketing knowledge to Islamic literature in a way that makes a
positive contribution to the study of Marketing.
• Contribute towards the mission and objectives of the Faculty of
Economics and Administration.

Mission and Objectives
The Faculty of Economics and Administration at King
Abdulaziz University seeks to provide students from various disciplines
the expertise to be successful in the fields of Business Administration,
Marketing, Public Administration, Accounting, Economics and Political
Science. The teaching methodology at the Faculty of Economics and
Administration focuses on quality by adopting an up-to-date curriculum
drawing on both theory and practice in the Saudi business environment.
The Faculty ensures that the Marketing Department adopts a new
scientific approach that is consistent with Islamic thought as required
by the Saudi business environment. In addition, the Faculty focuses on
the continuous development of curricula to meet the needs of business
organizations and keep up with the various local and international
developments in the field of Marketing.

After graduating with a degree in Marketing,
graduates will have numerous options available to them. They can work in
various areas of Marketing such as promotion, sales, advertising,
marketing research, as well as in financial institutions, hospitality,
production, retailing and other service areas, as well as in
international business.
